Tigers Trust, the charitable arm of Castleford Tigers RLFC has received £9,803 funding from the Coalfield Regeneration Trust’s Community Investment Programme.
The grant will help to provide a programme of health activities targeting woman.
The ‘Just for You’ project is a unique collaboration with Wakefield Council and Yorkshire Sport Foundation to deliver a series of physical activity, health awareness and consultation programmes in Castleford and the Five Towns over the coming year.
The sessions will focus on increasing activity levels and learning more about healthy living and diet. There will also be information about weight loss and the changes we can make to maintain those weight losses.
Tim Rumford, Trust Manager said: “We are grateful to the Coalfield Regeneration Trust for the funds received. The money will go towards widening the activities we offer to women in the local community. It will also enable us to continue working to improve the health and well-being of people in the Wakefield District/”
To kick-start the project, several FREE ‘Roadshows’ will be taking place over the coming weeks.
The ‘Roadshows’ will provide local women with the opportunity to register and find out more about the free ten weeks ‘Just for You’ programme. You will also have the chance to meet the instructor and receive your unique Tanita Scale measurements.
*Please note the FREE ten weeks’ programme will have limited places available and these will be allocated on a first come, first serve basis.
