Visitors to Trinity Leeds will have the chance to discover the delights of table tennis as part of a special free event held this Friday (2 June).

Held from 11am – 4pm, people of all ages and abilities will be able to play a game of table tennis in the events space located on the bottom floor of the shopping centre.

Table tennis is a brilliant way in which to have fun and stay active, and with all equipment also provided, this is your chance to discover why so many people around the world love the sport so much. Since its introduction in 2014, the Ping! Leeds campaign has seen table tennis tables located in a range of unique city settings including Leeds Kirkgate Market, Roundhay Park Tropical World and Temple Newsam.

Councillor Kevin Ritchie, Leeds City Council’s lead member for sport, said: “It has been fantastic as part of the Ping! Leeds campaign to see so many people of all ages and abilities pick up a bat and have great fun while playing a game of table tennis.

“What is great also about Ping! Leeds is being able to put table tennis tables in settings that you would not always expect to see the sport played in. This really adds to the enjoyment, and we would like to offer a big thank you to Trinity Leeds for kindly agreeing to host this year’s Ping! Leeds launch.”

Dan Wharton, marketing manager at Trinity Leeds, said: “It doesn’t matter whether you’re a table tennis pro or a complete beginner – everyone is welcome to pick up a bat and join in. With experts from Ping! Leeds giving out top tips, we’re sure this fantastic free event will prove a hit with visitors at Trinity Leeds.”
