Yorkshire Sport Foundation launches new podcast

Back to News

Posted 25th September 2019

We are delighted to launch ‘The YSF Podcast’, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and other major podcast providers.

The podcast will share good practice and interviews with experts from the sport and physical activity sector, with a particular focus on the work going on across South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire, both by YSF and other organisations from across the two counties.

Future episodes include a focus on asset-based community development, looking at how the Active Burngreave project has used that model to great success in Sheffield.

Episode one turns the spotlight on PE and School Sport in primary schools, with discussion around the new healthy schools award, the School Sport and Activity Action plan, plus the Yorkshire Primary PE and Sport Premium Awards. We are also joined by Helen Cartwright, the PE Coordinator at Horbury Primary School, to discuss how they have embedded physical activity into their school and the impact it is having.

We also give an update on the #CreatingActiveSchools initiative and share some of the go-to resources for our Primary PE and School Sport staff.
