Posted 8th December 2021

The Empower LGBT+ Project led by Sheffield United Community Foundation is the subject of the latest episode of The YSF Podcast.

The episode has been released to coincide with Rainbow Laces Day 2021, and looks back on the first 12 months of the project with three people who have been at the heart of it.

Katie Glossop (Participation and Inclusion Manager) and Amy Hood (Empower LGBT+ Project Coordinator) from the Foundation, were joined by James Laley, founder of Rainbow Blades, the clubs official LGBTQ+ and Allies supporters group.

They discuss the story of the project so far, sharing what they have learnt along the way.

The Empower LGBT+ project is funded by the Premier League Professional Footballers Association Fund and Yorkshire Sport Foundation until August 2023. The project aims to increase the number of LGBT+ individuals participating in physical activity and sport regularly and is currently focused on supporting young people aged 11-25 years.

The episode is available to download and stream on all major podcast providers including Spotify, Apple Podcasts, Google Podcast and Amazon Music.
