“I’m an ambitious individual and I want us to keep testing ourselves as an organisation, keep pushing and asking ourselves if we’re doing as much as we possibly can do to support people being active in South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.

“I’m really excited by the work that the Foundation does and thrilled that I’ve got the opportunity to be Chair.”

Nigel Harrison, Chief Executive Officer of Yorkshire Sport Foundation, added: “Brendan is a passionate Yorkshireman and equally passionate about the difference sport and physical activity can make to people throughout South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.

“The experience and expertise he will bring to the role of Chair will be a great asset to us as we strive to get better in every aspect of how we operate, for the benefit of our team, the partners we work with and ultimately, the people we serve in the two counties.”
