“Sheffield Hallam University values the partnership that has developed with Yorkshire Sport Foundation. They continue to develop innovative programmes to enhance partnership work across our region and the impact of this work is evident in universities, schools and community based clubs.
They have worked closely with a range of partners to enhance the quality of provision and access to a range of inclusive physical activities. I particularly value the time and support they’ve offered the Sheffield Primary PE Strategy group. They offer a valuable perspective and are continually looking for new ways of supporting the development of programmes associated with the Primary PE and Sport Premium. The strength and commitment of County Sport Partnerships is vital to ensure a region continues to strategically develop programmes to benefit all. We are fortunate to have a CSP that regularly consults with partners, has a clear vision and acts with integrity.“
Sarah Williams, Senior Lecturer, Primary and Early Years Teacher Education
“Yorkshire Sport Foundation provided some detailed knowledge about how to establish our Talented Athlete Scheme. It was a relief to be able to be supported by Kathryn. She had such a broad range of experiences to call upon and was able to guide me through the process. It left me confident that we had made the correct decisions and also with somebody to call upon who would give me carefully considered advice.
Our scheme has been a great success with three athletes going on to compete at international level and another at national level. I know that it would never had got off the ground had it not been for the support we received from Yorkshire Sport Foundation.”
Martin Fallon, Headteacher, Mosborough Primary School
“They have extensive knowledge on national issues affecting Primary PE, sport and active playtimes and their response time when advice is needed is second to none. Despite their role in promoting sport at all levels they also understand the need to raise the profile of PE teaching and learning in school.”
Jo Searle, PE co-ordinator, Phillimore Community Primary School.
“I would just like to say it was a pleasure working with you. I found the bid very easy to complete and the funding was gratefully received. We used the money to order our group some personalised shirts which made the girls really proud to not only wear our academy logo but also have their family/friends name permanently inked on the back in memory of them. We as an academy hope to of raised at least £500 which I know will help to ‘beat cancer’. A thoroughly enjoyable event and of course ‘pretty muddy’.”
Holly Benson, Hemsworth Academy
“Yorkshire Sport Foundation provides opportunities for the development of leadership . Our leaders have benefitted from this fantastic experience. They learned so much and enjoyed the planning, working with other leaders, coaches, organisers and a wide range of pupils. It took their skills to another level, one which school could not provide. They came back wishing to do more.”
