Previous Experience:

Julian has been involved in journalism and digital media since 2000 when he became Content Developer for the Huddersfield Examiner’s website. He was sort of part of Trinity Mirror’s development and national rollout of their ‘New Media’ platform – the icNetwork.

In 2001 he became Editor of the Examiner’s lifestyle magazine and spent three years writing, editing, photographing and designing, also working on leisure gudes and promotional material.

In 2005 he set up an art business, curating a successful fringe exhibition in Holmfirth Artweek and shortly moved into video production.

In 2006 he joined ‘West Yorkshire Sport’ as admin support and became Communication Officer then Communication Manager.

Personal Sporting Interests:

Julian took up mountain biking shortly after joining the team and started running a mile a day in 2016.

Losing a few teeth in 2021 persuaded him that cycling on the flat was much more suited to a man of his vintage than all that mountain biking excitement.

When not at work he either has a video camera or electric guitar nearby.
