Job Title:Development Manager (Focus Communities)
Areas of Work:
Communities and Place-Based working- leading on Active Burngreave, Active Maltby and Airedale Active.
Advocating the role of physical activity within achieving social outcomes across our diverse communities.
Lead on the Levelling the Playing Field Project- working with community partners to increase sports participation for young people from ethnically diverse communities and reduce the number of young people from ethnically diverse communities entering the criminal justice system.
Kathryn joined South Yorkshire Sport in March 2013 having worked within Sport Development for 6 years in a range of different roles. Most recently Kathryn spent 4 years working for Zest, a voluntary organisation working to improve life chances for deprived communities in Sheffield. Other previous roles include Sport Development Officer at Derbyshire Sport and as part of the Activity Sheffield coaching team.
Kathryn is passionate about developing sporting opportunities for children and young people, particularly for those from disadvantaged backgrounds. She is passionate about supporting the voluntary and community sector and is a Trustee for three charities in Sheffield.

Personal Sporting Interests:
Kathryn is a keen sportswomen and takes part in a variety of activity outside of work. She has played football for over 20 years and enjoys swimming, cycling and walking in the Peaks. Kathryn enjoys sports related challenges including cycling over 300 miles in 3 days, from Brussels to London, to raise money for sport development charity Right to Play.
