Development Manager (Barnsley and Doncaster)

Lead role on supporting partnerships across Barnsley and Doncaster


Previous Experience:

Nathan has spent the last 14 years based at Handsworth Grange Community Sports College in Sheffield. His most recent roles were managing Forge School Sport Partnership, undertaking the School Games Organiser role and managing the community sports centre which is attached to the school. These roles involved working across a number of schools in Sheffield to provide advice, support and a range of opportunities to engage children in physical activity and sport, as well as developing opportunities for the local community in Handsworth.

Nathan has delivered a number of successful projects including the Healthy Lifestyle Champions Programme, South Yorkshire Young Ambassador Programme and Healthy Minds Programme. He has also been the Girls Football Schools Partnership strategic lead for Sheffield, working on the UEFA Women’s Euros legacy programme across the city.

Prior to working in Sheffield, Nathan worked as a community sports coach and volunteer coordinator in targeted communities across Rotherham.

Nathan is passionate about sport and physical activity and recognises the impact it can have on individuals and communities.


Education:

BSc (Hons) Sport Development with Coaching – Sheffield Hallam University


Personal Sporting Interests:

Nathan enjoys football, cycling, golf and long walks in the outdoors. He is a season ticket holder at Rotherham United and coaches his son’s football team.
