Job Title:

Development Manager (Sheffield) (On maternity leave)

Areas of Work:

Lead role on supporting the District Activity Partnership in Sheffield.


Previous Experience:

Rachael has worked within the Voluntary Sector in Sheffield for most of her career delivering Public Health projects in deprived communities to help improve the lives of others. She has also delivered weight management programmes across the City for children & families, young people and adults.

More recently Rachael worked at South Yorkshire Housing Association leading on service improvement and customer voice across their health, care and support services. In addition to this she has also spent time working on a project alongside Health & Social Care Commissioners across the Sheffield City Region to imbed coproduction into the design, delivery and evaluation of services.

Working collaboratively has always been at the core of her work and ensuring services and provisions are designed with the people who will be accessing them so they are fit for purpose particularly for those hardest to reach. Rachael has built knowledge and skills in asset based approaches, inclusion and diversity and behavior change. She is also very familiar with Sheffield and already has great links in the City.

Rachael is passionate about giving everyone the same opportunity to lead a healthy lifestyle and be able to access physical activity and she is looking forward to being part of making this happen in Sheffield.

BSc (Honours) Public Health and Nutrition - Sheffield Hallam University


Personal Sporting Interests:

Rachael loves to run outdoors and feels lucky to live in Sheffield where there are plenty of scenic routes and hills to keep her heart rate up – she enjoys a challenge! Rachael has completed several Half Marathons in Sheffield and will be venturing to Edinburgh for her next one at the end of May 2019. She also likes to take part in Park Runs, enjoys long walks at a weekend and regularly attends her local community gym.
