Job Title:Data and Insight Support Officer
Areas of Work:
Working with the Data and Insight Manager to assist with data collection, processing and monitoring of data for Yorkshire Sport Foundation.
Sophie’s academic background originates in sport, exercise and health sciences and her professional/voluntary experience is primarily in sport science support at elite level sports teams.
During her undergraduate years she worked on a voluntary basis as a performance analyst for Loughborough Lightning Netball Super League team and the England Roses. Following a successful unpaid placement year at The English Institute of Sport (EIS) as a physiologist, working with British Athletics and British Triathlon, Sophie re-joined the EIS upon graduation as a full-time physiologist for the Great Britain Cycling Team.
Her role evolved into leading the physiology service for the Paralympic team and her Masters research project explored heat acclimation strategies in Paralympic cyclists.

Personal Sporting Interests:
Sophie enjoys keeping physically active through cycling, either on her indoor turbo trainer on the Zwift cycling platform or on the flatter Yorkshire roads. Her preferred team sport is netball.
