#ThisIsPE

#ThisIsPE is a home learning resource to ensure primary school children continue to have access to physical education during lockdown.

#ThisIsPE was created in collaboration with the Association for Physical Education and Youth Sport Trust, and was endorsed as a home learning resource by the Department for Education during the first national lockdown in 2020. All activities are led by PE specialists from across the country, and activities are linked to the primary PE curriculum.

Families need no specialist equipment, instead making use of items that can be found around the home. There are 25 activities, all providing progressions that make them accessible for children at all ages of primary school. You can see which activities come under which strand of the curriculum on this page.

All the videos are available on our Youtube channel.

If you’d like to share the campaign with others, we’ve created a toolkit to help make life easier.

Secondary schools

#ThisIsPE secondary is designed to support teachers and parents/carers with secondary aged children in signposting to appropriate physical education content which will enable pupils to continue their development within national curriculum PE at home during the school closures.

The resources are provided by Youth Sport Trust, one of the campaign partners.

Safety at playOther #ThisIsPE video lessons can easily be made ‘safe’ in schools by following the guidance our partners at AfPE have published to support the Physical Education, School Sport and Physical Activity (education based) workforce.
