Creative Minds is a charity hosted by South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and we deliver creative approaches in health and mental health.
“At Creative Minds we believe in the benefits of sport and physical activity to mental health and wellbeing” Alex Feather , Development manager at Creative Minds.
"This year we are grateful to Yorkshire Sport for donating £7k of match funding which has benefitted 5 of our projects across Calderdale and Kirklees and enabled us reach more people.
"The 5 projects include rock climbing and bouldering experiences for young people with neurodiversity and their families, with
- the ROKT Foundation;
- paddlesports with Blackdog Outdoors for people with mental health issues/ concerns; wellbeing,
- fitness, and sport sessions for young people and families who are neurodiverse and with SEND with Batley Sporting Foundation;
- ‘wobble boarding’ excercises with Age UK to help people over 50 gain more physical fitness and to help prevent falls (Fall prevention for the elderly | Age UK); and
- an allotment gardening project with our partner Growing Works. These projects will directly benefit 400 people in the community.“
