Calderdale
The district of Calderdale is a mix of industrial heritage, rugged farming and moorland around historic towns like Halifax, Hebden Bridge, and Todmorden.
The Calder Valley provides a scenic backdrop for hiking, cycling, and exploring.
Active Calderdale is the place partnership for the district and was one of Sport England's 12 Local Delivery Pilots.
The aim in Calderdale is to make activity a part of day-to-day life for everyone in the borough, so that wherever you turn, you are receiving encouragement and opportunity to be physically active.
They work across ten system areas including education, health, green spaces to embed physical activity, sport and movement into every day life.
How we support Calderdale
Julie is our lead in developing, fostering and managing relationships in Calderdale and Kirklees, with additional support from the wider YSF team. This nurturing of relationships is designed to support people being more active, particularly people living with the greatest challenges who will benefit most.
