Volunteering
Volunteers are the backbone of grassroots sport. Without their time, dedication and commitment of volunteers across the country each week, clubs, leagues and opportunities for people to play sport and be physically active wouldn't exist.
The resources on this page have been created in conjunction with sports clubs to support the recruitment, retention and rewarding of volunteers. These resources can be used across any sport or physical activity in any club or community organisation.
1. Volunteering toolkit – a step by step guide to recruiting, retaining and rewarding the volunteers within your club or league.
2. Volunteer welcome pack – a downloadable welcome pack for your club or league to personalise and use for the recruitment of all volunteers. Including important club information as well as information specific to their role. This pack gives volunteers everything they need to get started at the club or league.
3. Club welcome pack – a downloadable welcome pack for all members of your club whether they are volunteers, players, coaches or parents of people associated with the club. You can edit and personalise this document to reflect your club or league.
4. Task and Roles document - a downloadable document to help you identify what roles need fulfilling and how existing roles could be broken down to make them more manageable.
5. Help our club survey - identify people within your club or organisations community to help with the tasks that need completing within the club.
6. Providing training for your volunteers? This volunteer agreement could help to formalise how clubs fund training for volunteers.
7. Thankyou emails - a simple thank you can go a long way, use these templates to get you started.
