Sheffield
Sheffield is the largest metropolitan borough in South Yorkshire. While built on the steel industry, a third of the district is within the Peak District National Park and is known as The Outdoor City.
The steepness of the geography helped power and supply the mills and factories, and the city itself is built on 'seven hills'. The 33% incline of Jenkin Road provided the steepest section of the 2014 Tour de France.
Move More Sheffield is the place partnership for the district and produces the Sport and Physical Activity Strategy.
The Move More name has has familiar since 2012, it came from a plan that is driven by the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine, Sheffield (NCSEM) as part of the London 2012 Olympic Legacy Programme.
How we support Sheffield
Rachael and Tom lead in developing, fostering and managing relationships in Sheffield, with additional support from the wider YSF team. This nurturing of relationships is designed to support people being more active, particularly people living with the greatest challenges who will benefit most.
