The Active Bradford Partnership Event, held on Thursday 14 May at Wyke Community Sports Village, was a great opportunity to get together with partners from across Bradford. The focus was on climate change - exploring its impact and implications for our collective work on physical activity..

A welcome from Sam Bacon (Director, Active Bradford) started the event which included talks from Charles Dacres (Co-Chair, Active Bradford), Cllr Sarah Ferriby (Bradford Council), and Tim Howells (Head of Public Health, Bradford Council) who shared progress on our district's physical activity strategy.

The national picture on climate change was highlighted by David Gent (CEO, Active Humber) and Barry Cusack (Bradford Council) who presented on climate change from local perspective.

Interactive workshops covered crucial topics including safeguarding, Sport for Good, Active Travel, and research insights from Born In Bradford.

The event featured the exciting launch of GoodGym in Bradford – an innovative programme where volunteers get fit by doing good in the community through running, walking and cycling.

It concluded with Richard Cracknell's impactful session on youth voice and the influence of children and young people in shaping physical activity initiatives.
