Can you help close the 24% team sport gap this International Women’s Day?
Help Women in Sport close the 24% team sport gap and join the “24 for 24” Challenge. You’d (almost) be forgiven for thinking it’s job done. But inequality persists.
By the time girls reach primary school, many are already falling behind in sport. Not because they lack talent or drive, but because they’ve had fewer chances. Deep-rooted stereotypes mean sport is often seen as less important for girls than it is for boys, so many girls have fewer opportunities to build fundamental skills and less encouragement to do so.
And we can’t ignore the data. Right now, in England, 24% fewer girls than boys play team sport. That’s around 930,000 girls who are missing out on the joy and life-long benefits of sport because they were born female.
So this International Women’s Day, let’s take action.
Join the “24 for 24” Challenge and help us close the 24% team sport gap.
Choose your 24. Make it loud. Make it joyful. Make it yours.
