Have your say on the future of National Lottery funding

The Government has launched a 12-week Call for Evidence asking people across the UK how National Lottery Good Causes funding can continue to make the biggest possible difference to communities. And we'd really encourage everyone across the sport and physical activity sector in Yorkshire to take part.

The National Lottery Good Causes: Fund What Matters To You consultation was launched by the Secretary of State on 1 July. It's seeking views on how Lottery funding reaches good causes, how it empowers local communities, and how it can be made easier to access.

For sport and physical activity, this matters. National Lottery players have helped generate more than £53 billion for good causes across the UK, supporting new and improved sports facilities, stronger grassroots clubs and more opportunities for people of all ages and backgrounds to be active. That investment has reached communities that need it most, helping to build healthier, more connected places to live.

Sport England Chair Chris Boardman has welcomed the Call for Evidence, noting that the organisation is well placed to contribute to this national conversation given its experience in shaping investment around what communities say they need.

This is a real opportunity for clubs, community groups, volunteers, funded organisations and anyone whose life has been touched by National Lottery investment to help shape what comes next. The more voices that are heard, the better the outcome for communities like ours across Yorkshire.
