Nordic Walking: A Community Project to Get Yorkshire Moving

British Nordic Walking, are passionate about getting more people active through community-based projects, with initiatives across the UK.

Nordic Walking is a full-body workout that’s accessible to all abilities, with proven benefits for improving fitness, mental health, and social connection. It has a strong appeal to people over 45, and those with long-term health conditions or disabilities.

Projects aim to bring people together in supportive, local groups where they can enjoy being active outdoors at their own pace. Whether it’s a gentle walk to improve mobility or a more energetic session, we tailor the activity to meet individual needs. Sessions are not only about fitness but also about creating a community where people can come together, share experiences, and stay motivated.

If you’re looking to set up a Nordic Walking group in your community, instructor training course provides all the skills and support you need to lead your own Nordic Walking sessions. Working together, it can make a real difference to the health and wellbeing of our communities.
