Leeds JogOn receives the Safer Stronger Communities award
Leeds JogOn campaign, a collaboration between the Safer Leeds Partnership, Get Set Leeds Local, and Yorkshire Sport Foundation and has received Safer Stronger Communities Chief Officer Commendation Award.
The campaign is here to say: "Enough is enough. Harassment of women runners is never acceptable, and we’re standing together to raise awareness, encourage reporting, and inspire change."
YSF's Nicola Holmes and Glenn Holdsworth received recognition for their contributions to the campaign with partners. They were presented with awards from Paul Money QPM, Chief Officer, Safer Stronger Communities Team, and Steven Baker, Head of Service, Active Leeds, at the John Charles Centre along with the other partners who collaborated on the project.
The award states: "This commendation is to recognise your hard work with the launch and implementation of the ‘JogOn’ Campaign in Leeds. The campaign has been a true example of partnership working and co-production across departments in the Local Authority, Police and Third Sector organisations and has been informed by lived experience.
"Your professional, diligence, and attention to detail has been clear and has contributed meaningfully to the success of this campaign.
"Improving the safety of women and girls in Leeds is a community safety priority, and this work reflects positively not only on you as an individual, but also on the wider work of “Team Leeds” and how we can make Leeds a safer place".

Nicola Holmes YSF Senior Sport Welfare Officer said: "I'm enjoying being part of such an important project alongside some dedicated and enthusiastic colleagues from the Local Authority and other organisations. We are working together to make Leeds a safer space to be active in".
