Through the summer YSF funded Street Games to deliver a Next Gen Sports Leaders programme in Partnership with the Rotherham Children's Capital of Culture.

This project focused on supporting Rotherham’s Children’s Capital of Culture (CCoC) provision and worked with young people involved with Locally Trusted Organisations (LTOs) to ensure their voices are kept at the forefront of the project, and what young people want to see from a physical activity and sport perspective is brought to life in the 2025 year of culture.

These leaders did training across the holidays in various workshops and have since been volunteering in their community groups as sports leaders/ambassadors.

They also were tasked with conducting small Youth Voice Groups themselves with their peers and feeding this information back to CCoC Youth Panel to shape ideas for the CCoC year of activities.

This was a great opportunity to identify and support the next generation of community leaders and upskill them to further support the work in their LTOs and more widely across the borough.
