School Games Impact Awards win for 'Engaging Stakeholders'

YSF are delighted to announce our events lead Emma Lea picked up the 'Engaging Stakeholders' honours at the School Games Impact Awards in Telford on 11 June 2024.

The award was for developing activities which engage a wide range of stakeholders, to advocate for the value of the School Games and demonstrate its impact on the lives of children and young people.

The School Games Impact Awards celebrates the impact achieved for young people by the network of schools, School Games Organisers, Active Partnerships, National Governing Bodies of sport, and National Disability Sports Organisations all aligned to the School Games key outcomes.

The case study YSF submitted was for two guest receptions to engage more and different stakeholders in our counties. The events helped us get a better understanding of our programme, and inspire connections to provide more more opportunities.

Emma said: "This truly was a joint effort by the whole School Games team across South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire. By working together to engage local stakeholders, we have already seen more collaboration that will provide opportunities for young people who need it the most. We hope to learn from this project and continue this work to help more young people experience the joys of sport and physical activity."

YSF CEO Nigel Harrison said "I am delighted to see such recognition of the work Emma and the team have been doing.  It shows how we can use the power of sport, physical activity and movement to change people’s lives, bring us together and tackle inequality."
