School Games success in South Yorkshire

We were in Sheffield last week, working alongside School Games Organisers and Youth Sport Trust for the South Yorkshire School Games winter festival.

Almost 850 children were at the English Institute of Sport for a day that included the finals of the primary and secondary sports hall athletics, as well as the primary and secondary Panathlon Challenge.

There was also the School Games Sports Showcase, which gave children across the county a chance to try out alternative sports and activities. There was a Youth Voice station to understand the barriers, motivations, and reasons behind children's participation in sport and physical activity.

Teachers got involved by submitting pre-prepared questions, and we shared the insights on the day so schools could make use of it straight away.
