Sam joined Yorkshire Sport Foundation as a Non-Executive Director in March 2026.
She has spent more than 20 years helping organisations to grow by better connecting with their audiences - experience she brings to Yorkshire Sport Foundation’s mission to help more people to enjoy the benefits of being active.
Sam began her career at global communications consultancies Edelman and Hill & Knowlton, supporting international technology brands. She went on to create marketing functions for parts of the Bertelsmann Group and Lloyds Banking Group.
Sam is currently Chief Marketing Officer at LDC, a leading private equity investor. Since joining the business in 2016, she has created the award winning LDC Top 50 Most Ambitious Business Leaders with The Times. She has also established LDC’s partnership with The King’s Trust to support more than 7,000 young entrepreneurs to start their own business.
Sam is a graduate of the University of Lancaster and the University of Colorado. Outside work, she loves travelling, adventuring and staying active through sport. She is passionate about the role sport can play in building confidence, connection and community, and still plays hockey and netball (albeit more slowly than in her youth!).
