• Working across the three Active Partnerships in Yorkshire & the Humber to build strong relationships with key strategic organisations to embed sport & physical activity into social, economic & environmental policy making.
• Articulating & advocating the benefits of sport & physical activity in helping to address inequalities & achieve wider social outcomes.
• Identify and develop connections between national, regional & local strategy & delivery.

Previous Experience

Amanda has many years’ experience of working in and with public and private sector organisations at a national & local level.  This has included the role of Head of Culture, Media & Sport at Government Office for Yorkshire & the Humber, working on behalf of the Department for Culture Media Sport in the run-up to London 2012.  More recently working for West Yorkshire Combined Authority raising the profile of the region & the fantastic business located here, provided valuable insight of working with the mayor and the growing devolution agenda.  Strong relationships and collaborative partnerships being a core feature in each & every role.

Keeping Active

Keeping active is an important part of my life whether that’s walking in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, swimming, going to the gym or pilates. I also enjoy watching sport, particularly cricket & rugby.
