Celebrating excellence in disability sport across Yorkshire
The Disability Sport Yorkshire Awards 2026 brought together athletes, volunteers, coaches, organisations and supporters from across the region for an inspiring evening of recognition and celebration.
Nominees, guests and supporters gathered at the Centenary Pavilion at Elland Road for a three-course dinner, guest speaker and the presentation of eleven awards.
The guest speaker was Roy Turnham, Blind Paralympian and Captain of the England Blind Football Team
Each year the awards honour the individuals and teams who are helping to make Yorkshire the best place in England for disabled people to get involved in sport.
Awards sponsors included YSF, Active Humber and North Yorkshire Sport.
Kath Lindley the new Chief Executive Officer at DSY said: "This was an evening of pride, inclusion and impact. From young achievers to lifetime contributors, we celebrate dedication, resilience and community leadership across Yorkshire."
Joe Thompson, YSF Director of Development said: "It was a brilliant, inspirational evening which showed the power of inclusion in sport and physical activity to bring communities together, help people belong and improve lives. It showcased lots of amazing local people who don't usually get the limelight."
