Opening School Facilities (OSF) is a funding programme from the Department for Education, supporting schools to open their existing sport facilities to support their students and the wider community to become more active. This includes partnering with sporting organisations who can help deliver activities in extra-curricular or out of school hours on school sites. The impact report reflects on the final year of Opening Schools Facilities, which ran from April 2024 - March 2025.

OSF is aimed at tackling inequalities among pupils and the wider community who face the biggest barriers to physical activity.

The impact report looks at the success of the third year of the programme, with case studies from across South Yorkshire and West Yorkshire.

We would like to thank all the partners we have worked alongside during this programme, in particular the schools who have been able to make a real difference to their communities.
