Sensory Badminton thriving in Halifax
Sensory Badminton, a programme created by Badminton England and the charity Sense aims to create meaningful badminton activities for people with complex disabilities is thriving in Halifax, thanks to an award nominated coach.
The sessions, which run weekly are led by Emma Vento, nominated for the Active Award at the BBC Radio Leeds Make a Difference Awards for her fantastic work.
Sensory badminton offers the opportunity for people with complex disabilities and sensory impairments to play badminton in a more sensory and engaging way, adapted for their specific needs.
Each sensory badminton activity is designed and delivered to reach individual desired goals and celebrate every achievement.
The activities range from hitting balloons with a racket, balancing a shuttle on a racket to playing traditional badminton and in Halifax, it is clear to see how much everyone enjoys all of the activities.
