Sport Leeds Secondary Conference

Over 100 heads of PE and PE teachers are coming together at Leeds Beckett University for the Sport Leeds secondary PE conference to help develop the secondary PE teaching network across Leeds.

This event is has been created and organised with the Sport Leeds strategic schools group with partners such as Leeds City Council, universities, school games organises, local school sport partnerships and Leeds School Sports Association.

Through consultation with the Secondary PE networks, the group identified barriers for secondary school PE practitioners to access the best learning.

Alex Ogden, YSF Education and School Sport Manager said: "We wanted to be able to provide a free forum where teachers from across the district can come together, share best practice and be upskilled on a range of topics."

Contents include updates from the Leeds School Sports Association which will highlight the opportunities that secondary schools can be involved in across the city. Teachers will also have the chance to attend workshops delivered by university PE lecturers, The FA and NGBs including pickleball and kinball.

"We are also delighted to welcome Jamie Jones Buchanan from the Leeds rhinos who will be sharing his inspirational story."
