The Bradford Sports Awards, held on 17th May 2024, was a resounding success, bringing the district together to celebrate sport and active participation. The event, which took place at the Life Centre in Bradford, highlighted the achievements of local athletes, coaches and volunteers, recognising their dedication and contributions to the world of sports.

Congratulations to Nalette Tucker for winning the Outstanding Contribution category for coaching.

The evening was marked by the enthusiastic support of Bradford’s professional sports clubs, with notable attendance from Bradford City FC, Bradford Bulls and Yorkshire Cricket. Their presence underscored the community and the shared commitment to fostering sport at all levels.

With 26 awards presented, the night showcased the incredible talent and hard work within our community. From a pool of over 600 nominations, 55 finalists were selected, each representing the best of Bradford’s sporting spirit. The event was attended by 350 guests, making it a memorable night for all involved.

A special thank you goes to our sponsors whose support was instrumental in making the event possible. The headline partner for this year’s Bradford Sports Awards was JU:MP with support from various organisations including Bradford College, Bradford 2025, Bradford City FC, The Broadway Shopping Centre, Bradford Ice Arena, Leeds Trinity University, Bradford Bulls, Yorkshire Sport Foundation, West Riding County FA, Penny Appeal and Bradford Hate Crime Alliance. In addition, Active Bradford was delighted to be partnering with the inspirational Darby Rimmer MND Foundation as the Official Charity of this year’s awards.

The Bradford Sports Awards 2024 also set a new standard for sustainability. This year’s event was the most environmentally friendly we’ve hosted, with initiatives such as e-tickets, electronic table plans, and a QR code for accessing menus and programmes. These efforts resulted in the event being more sustainable compared to previous years, reflecting our commitment to reducing our environmental impact.

Active Bradford co-chairs Charles Dacres and James Mason said:

“We are thrilled with the success of this year’s Bradford Sports Awards. It was an incredible opportunity to celebrate the outstanding achievements across the Bradford District and to see such strong support from our professional clubs and sponsors. The finalists embody the values of teamwork, dedication, and passion for sports, and their accomplishments serve as an inspiration to the entire community. We look forward to continuing to build on this success and further promoting active participation and sport in Bradford.”
