Asthma-Friendly Clubs Webinar Series – South Yorkshire

Staff from sport and physical activity clubs across Barnsley, Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield are invited to engage in the South Yorkshire Asthma Friendly Clubs programme. These sessions aim to spark interest and inspire clubs to sign up to become officially recognised as asthma-friendly safe spaces for children. This initiative is led by the Children and Young People’s Alliance Team as part of NHS England’s plan to improve children’s health outcomes, supporting better asthma care and awareness.

During the webinar, Nicola Standring-Brown, a clinical lead in the Alliance and a practice nurse, will highlight the importance of being well-prepared to manage asthma within club environments. She’ll also outline the comprehensive support available to help clubs achieve asthma-friendly status, along with the benefits this brings to both clubs and their communities.

What Happens After the Webinar?

Clubs that express interest will begin the 7-Step Charter Journey, which includes completing Tier 1 Asthma Training. Once they submit the required evidence, they’ll earn the right to display South Yorkshire NHSs exclusive asthma-friendly badge, showcasing their commitment to child health and safety.
