Communities across Bradford are celebrating Bike Week 2026 and taking part in a range of activities that highlight the power of cycling to improve physical health and mental well-being.

Bike Week, led by Cycling UK and running from Monday 8 to Sunday 14 June, is the UK's biggest celebration of cycling. This year's theme, Move As Yourself, reflects the many personal reasons people choose to cycle, whether for joy, freedom, confidence or connection.

Celebrations in Bradford got underway on Sunday 7 June with Ride Bradford, a free family cycling event at Wyke Community Sports Village. Open to all ages and abilities, the event was delivered in partnership with Active Travel England, West Yorkshire Combined Authority, British Cycling and West Yorkshire Police.

Across the district, local organisations are also offering activities focused on building confidence and community, including guided wellbeing rides and adult learn-to-ride sessions, providing residents with opportunities to reduce stress, improve mood, and make new connections.

Whether you're new to cycling, returning after time away or already a regular rider, there's something for everyone taking part in Bradford's Bike Week programme.
