Swim England launches new plan to grow learn to swim programmes

Swim England has launched a new Learn to Swim Growth Plan, designed to help aquatic providers grow their swimming lesson programmes at a time when learn-to-swim participation has been slowing nationally.

The new plan brings together data, insight and practical guidance into one integrated package, taking providers through three stages: audit, insight and action. The idea is to move beyond simply understanding the current picture and help operators take confident, targeted steps towards real growth.

What makes it particularly useful is that growth targets are tailored to each individual facility, using local demand data and capacity analysis to map out a realistic and achievable pathway. Support covers everything from pool programming and workforce planning to customer journey and lesson delivery, giving providers a clear, evidence-based roadmap to work from.

Swim England is currently looking for two operators to take part in an initial pilot, with feedback from those sites helping to shape the plan ahead of a wider national launch. If you're a pool operator or swimming club in Yorkshire thinking about how to expand your programme and reach more people in your community, it could be well worth getting in touch.
