Take action against racism with Active Bystander training

The Yorkshire and Humber Anti Racism in Sport group wants to help people take action and to create inclusive and safe environments.

We can arrange a free session to help people recognise, intervene and prevent racist incidents.

Session aims and content

• Discuss the extent of hate crime in England and Wales.

• Discuss the role of bystanders in the prevention of abuse.

• Identify a range of tools that can be used to safely support or challenge others.

• Describe ways to support individuals who may disclose abuse.

• Scenario-based, relevant to sport, and bringing in personal experiences.

Session details and requirements

• 90-minute interactive session.

• In-person training.

• Organisation to provide suitable room.

• Works best with maximum 20 participants.
