Sharing the Learning in Bradford
Over 60 delegates from across Yorkshire and Humber gathered yesterday for an event focussed on place-based approaches to getting children and young people more active.
This was part of the Sharing the Learning events across the region about place-based approaches to physical activity, with the theme of this particular event based on children and young people.
Delegates heard from organisations making real impact in their communities which included JU:MP, Easting Riding Place Partnership, Creating Active Schools and Active Leeds, who discussed their work on place efficiency.
The event's success was evident in the quality of networking and knowledge exchange that took part during the day. Attendees appreciated the opportunity to connect with like-minded professionals and share practical solutions.
Sport England representatives also attended the event and provided updates on their latest investment priorities for children and young people. They expressed particular enthusiasm for the work happening across Yorkshire and Humber and the collaborative approach being taken. Sport England also confirmed the region continues to receive investment in areas of greatest need, supporting the system-wide changes required to help more children and young people be physically active.
By bringing together diverse expertise and fostering regional collaboration, the series is helping to build the knowledge base and professional networks sufficiently for creating lasting change.
